Installing wood boilers in Brittany

This technology, invented and developed in Brazil, is based on the use of an abundant and cheap resource – wood chips. Two of the Group's sites have been selected for this purpose, one in Guingamp (Côtes d’Armor) and the other in Montauban de Bretagne (Ille-et-Vilaine). This project is currently in the design phase and is due to be up and running in 2010. Its benefits are a neutral carbon footprint and a fast return on investment due to the forecast rises in fossil fuel costs.

Recycling waste from the whey demineralisation process

In the Mâcon facility, this project will make it possible to recycle the vast majority of waste generated by the facility's main production activity. This waste can be recycled into agricultural fertilizer and cattle fodder. The technology used will diminish the pollution load from the water and therefore reduce the prohibitive cost of water taxes.
